Land Damage

As a medieval re-enactment festival, we have no large ‘fairground’ lorries or similar, which could damage the land we occupy over the two days. All the performers and contractors have their own vehicles which are removed from the site during the event. There are specific parking areas for the horse boxes, and re-enactor cars – mainly on tarmacked areas.

Pre- and post- the festival we have a meeting with Wychavon District Council Parks officers to ensure that environmental impact of the festival is minimised.

Waste Management

Working directly with Wychavon District Council parks and Waste Management team, we provide several large skips and commercial grade wheelie bins – contracted through the Council and the recycling managed by them.

We also have purchased 10 Battle of Evesham waste management bins (110ltr) that will sit next to the fixed Council Park Waste Bins throughout the festival site. Our team of volunteers will be monitoring and emptying these bins and the Council bins throughout the weekend.

Traders

Traders are contracted to manage their own waste, but will come under the scrutiny of our committee member who is in charge of waste management.

Generators

All generators brought on-site by contractors are required to be ‘silent’ generators. Standard diesel and petrol generators are not permitted.

Lighting and Noise Considerations

Some noise is to be expected, but no loud bangs or fireworks are planned. Most music is unamplified.
There are no plans for lighting other than in the beer tent during the early evening.
We consider this event to have minimum impact on lighting and noise.
